Thank you and your family for your support! Our Bavarian Family Feast Bier is easy to prepare and will give you a little feeling of Bavaria.

First things first: Organise a Bier or a glass of sparkling from the bottle you have received. Open the Bier and PROST to your family, you imaginary friends and the pork knuckle.

Let’s get you started with our step-by-step guide how our Chef would prepare the food.

Bretzel, Obatzda and pickled vegetables
Ok this is a super easy one. Let’s get the entree ready.

  1. But all Pretzels into the oven for 5mins at 180 degree Celsius
  2. Remove the Obatzda cheese dip into a nice bowl or on a plate
  3. Place all pickled vegetables on another plate
  4. Enjoy this beautiful Bavarian entree

Pork knuckle (2hours)

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 140 degree Celsius and take a sip of your Bier.
  2. Remove the knuckle from the bag and reserve the gel for later.
  3. Place the knuckle in a roasting tray with most of the skin facing up, pop it in the oven for 90 mins (we are slow roasting to render the fat and get the skin ready for crispiness)
  4. Remove the big friend from the oven
  5. Turn oven up to 240c
  6. Quickly have a quick sip of your Bier (Important) Don’t Skip this it’s essential to the outcome of the meal.
  7. Once the oven is on 240C -put the knuckle back in the oven. This should take about 15 to 30 min (Depends on your oven)
  8. Keep Checking every 5-10 min to see if it is crisping up. (remember every oven is different)
  9. So, this sounds a bit exhausting so better have another skull of bier.
  10. The knuckle will be ready once the skin is completely crispy and you can see some air pockets on the skin. In the meantime, while the knuckle is doing it’s magic, it’s time to get the rest ready.

Bier Goulash (15mins)

  1. In a big pot bring water to simmer
  2. Place the whole bag of Bier goulash into the simmering water for about 10-12 mins
  3. Remove from the pot and carefully open the hot bag and place it in a nice bowl

Cauliflower (15mins)
Microwave

  1. DO NOT OPEN THE BAG of the cauliflower
  2. Put the Cauliflower into the microwave for about 5 mins this will heat it up from the core inside out.
  3. Take the cauliflower out of the bag (careful it will be hot) and place it on a baking tray
  4. Evenly spread the bechamel sauce on top of the cauliflower so it covers almost the whole cauliflower.
  5. Spread the cheese on top of the cauliflower
  6. Put the whole into the oven for 10-12mins at 180 degree. Keep an eye on the cauliflower once the cheese turns golden colour its ready

Sides (10mins)
You can heat in the microwave or pots.

  1. Mash should be done in a pot for sure. (slow heat and keep string it)
  2. Quick check your Bier or sparkling it might be getting warm.
  3. Sauerkraut can be heated in the microwave oven (about 3min)
  4. Spätzle can be quickly heated in a pan or pot with a bit of butter
  5. Now for the pork jus. (Remember the gel from the knuckle?) Quickly find it and put it with the jus. Warm it up ready to serve.

Quick check the knuckle and PROST to your family. It’s almost ready!

Ok, the knuckle should be looking glorious (If not then you haven’t had enough Bier)

You can serve the Feast now. Place the klnuckle in the middle of the table. Put Sauerkraut and mash potato in a bowl each and place the pork jus next to it. Put the Spatzle on a plate and the bread as well.
